There are many attractions and places of interest in the area and it is certainly recommended that these be explored. The orbicular granite site 1 km down stream of the chalets is a fascinating geological mystery, and a fitting destination for a brief exploratory walk. There are numerous bushman paintings in the granite formations and caves with old grain bins.


In addition to the natural beauty of the area, visitors can enjoy the hospitality of the Ndebele people who live within a few hundred meters of the chalets. There is a possibility that you may be invited into a villager’s dwelling. This is a beautiful opportunity to learn about the Ndebele way of life and to experience a traditional homestead.


Other places of interest include the famous Rhodes Indaba site, the 50 million cubic meter Mtshabezi Dam, the Lumene Falls and the community dam which is only a 20 minute walk away.
